1940 Buick Ambulance
Vehicle Details
Our 1940 Buick ambulance was built by the Flxible Company of Loudonville, Ohio. It was delivered new to Snyder Ambulance Service, based in Van Nuys, and was purchased through Harvey Tyrell Buick of North Hollywood. It served as a frontline emergency ambulance in the San Fernando Valley from 1940 until 1952.
This ambulance features a Buick 248 cubic inch “Fireball” straight-8 engine producing 107 horsepower and a 3-speed manual transmission.
We have faithfully replicated this vehicle back to the way it appeared when new in 1940. It has the original (and legal) yellow and black California license plates, correct gurney, medical equipment, emergency warning lights along with a Sterling siren/light combination.
